How is the surfboard volume calculated?

Good question! Volume is one of the most important factors when choosing the right board for you. It affects buoyancy, stability, and even how easily you catch waves.

Here, we use a simple and practical formula to help you figure out what you need:

(WEIGHT & EXPERIENCE) × (AGE) × (FITNESS LEVEL) = IDEAL VOLUME
This isn’t an exact mathematical formula, but rather a way to estimate the volume that best suits you.

But what does that mean?
WEIGHT & EXPERIENCE: If you’re just starting out, you’ll need more volume to feel stable. If you already have experience, you can go for less volume and gain maneuverability.
AGE: It’s not just a number! As the years go by, a board with more volume can help with paddling and balance.
FITNESS LEVEL: In good shape? Then you can ride a board with less volume. If you’re getting back into surfing or want something more comfortable, more volume is the way to go.
